Olori Halima Tejuoso has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in relation to an alleged N600 million fraud involving Mallam Ibrahim Gidado and Mrs. Mary Oluwaseye Sholoye.
According to Sunday Independent, Tejuoso was detained on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for allegedly failing to accept an invitation from the Commission after being released on administrative bail.
Tejuoso was detained after allegedly violating the administrative bail that the Commission had previously given her, according to EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale, who confirmed the situation.
In response to our correspondent Oyewale’s chat: “It is real. Last Tuesday, we took her into custody. We are in charge of her.
He continued by saying that Gidado, who is also connected to the probe, had previously been taken into custody and charged in court.
In relation to Gidado, Tejuoso was allegedly charged with receiving around N600 million from Sholoye through deception.
She reportedly told investigators during her earlier appearance before the EFCC that Gidado had allegedly cheated her of the money she was supposed to be receiving from Sholoye.
However, Tejuoso reportedly failed to show up and was unreachable after Gidado’s arrest and the Commission’s subsequent invitation.
As part of its probe into the alleged fraud, the EFCC later designated her wanted on April 27, 2026.
The Commission had been looking for her for several months before her arrest on September 15.
The most recent discovery is anticipated to enable the EFCC to move on with additional research into the circumstances surrounding the purported N600 million transaction and Tejuoso’s interactions with the other parties.
According to the Commission’s viewpoint, Gidado’s case has already gone to court, and Tejuoso’s legal actions are anticipated to follow the conclusion of the ongoing inquiry and any required legal procedures.
However, until a court of competent authority renders a decision, the accusations against Tejuoso remain unsubstantiated.
Until a court of law finds them guilty, all parties are assumed innocent.
