Nasiru Garba, the sole survivor of the commercial bus attack near Dungus Junction in the Kuru village, Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State, has described his survival.
According to Daily Trust, locals told our correspondent that the event happened yesterday at around 9:30 p.m. when the bus driver pulled over to drop off some passengers.
There were numerous bullet holes and bloodstains on the bus that was travelling to Jos.
Garba, the vehicle’s conductor, described how the attack claimed the lives of all eight passengers as well as the driver.
“We parked by the roadside and dropped off five passengers,” he stated. The driver got down to get the transport fare after they got off.
“I was waiting for the driver in front of the bus. The terrorists started shooting at the passengers who got off as soon as the driver opened the door.
The bus’s remaining occupants, the driver, and every passenger who had previously gotten off perished.
“I crouched down in the car as soon as I heard the gunfire. The assailants came over to the bus, unlocked the front door, and examined my corpse. My phone was being charged, and they took all the money I had. I didn’t look at their faces, and they didn’t say anything while performing the deed.
Garba said the attack was horrible and that he was perplexed at the time.
It was his fourth day of employment as a bus conductor, he claimed.
