A Nigerian lady who went from Lagos to Doha, Qatar, has reportedly been missing for over 48 hours after arriving in the nation. The development has raised concerns from her family and investigations by authorities and airline personnel.
The 37-year-old woman took Qatar Airways aircraft QR1408 from Lagos International Airport to Doha on Tuesday, Sunday Trust reports.
The last time her family heard from her, her brother Jonathan Jibo said on X, was over WhatsApp when she was on board the airline utilising the Wi-Fi on the flight.
The aeroplane landed smoothly in Doha and a person appointed to pick her up was already waiting at the airport, Jibo said. But the man who had come to meet her was not there to greet her.
The family then got in touch with the airport desk and the airline, which apparently said she had collected her luggage.
The brother claimed the event has raised concerns because the woman knows airport procedures having worked at Lagos Airport for approximately 12 years.
His sister was travelling for the first time, Jibo added. She had no acquaintances in Qatar and had paid for her accommodations and other preparations months before her journey. She was also to return to work in Doha within weeks of her arrival.
