The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) in a bid to make petroleum products more accessible.
The refinery, under the new pricing regime, dropped the price of petrol by N50 from N1,215 per litre to N1,165 per litre and diesel by N80 from N1,650 per litre to N1,570 per litre.
The refinery said the review of prices intended to enhance energy affordability, improve access to refined petroleum products and boost economic activity across Nigeria in a statement released by the Dangote Group today. Economics
The refinery said the move was consistent with its goal to supplying “affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market.”
It also said it was committed to guaranteeing reliable supply while using operational efficiency to bring value to consumers, businesses and stakeholders.
“The company said it will continue to pass on benefits of greater operating savings to consumers whenever market conditions allow.
It said the refinery continues to play a key role in increasing Nigeria’s energy security, reducing dependence on imports and fostering the nation’s economic development through the provision of world-class petroleum products.

The refinery cut the ex-depot price of PMS to N1,165 per litre, from N1,215 per litre, a drop of N50 per litre under the new pricing regime. Diesel also saw a reduction in its ex-depot price to N1,570 per litre from N1,650 per litre, representing a fall of N80 per litre.
