Davido, real name David Adeleke, an Afrobeats star, has counselled upcoming musicians to remain loyal to God even when they achieve success because fame has many distractions.
The singer in an interview with Kiss Xtra which went viral yesterday advised aspiring artists to believe in themselves, work constantly on their craft and not lose sight of the ideals that helped them flourish.
He said the journey in the music industry was about passion, dedication and ongoing self-improvement.
My advise to future artistes is, first of all, to believe in yourself. I worked so hard on my craft. I liked music so much that I just wanted to improve every time. “I was learning from YouTube and people around me, when I was younger,” he remarked.
Davido also advised up and coming singers to keep God at the core of their lives especially when they come to stardom.
“Secondly, love what you do, put God first and close especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” he continued.
