The Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) today 26 June 2026 has graduated a new group of adept military photographers who will be at the forefront of fighting bad narratives through visual storytelling.
The Special Guest of Honour, Brigadier General Ezindu Idimah(Rtd) who delivered the keynote address at the graduation ceremony of 2nd quarter A3 Photography Course 16/26 at the Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja Auditorium, Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri, Abuja said that effective communication is key in promoting transparency, building public confidence and enhancing civil-military cooperation, especially in the fight against terrorism and other security challenges facing the nation.
“The course equips students on how to document military operations, provide accurate visual narratives of events and emerging trends,” Brig Gen Idimah said. He observed that the founding of the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) was a visionary move which is still contributing immensely to the Army’s information and communication goals.
He lauded NASPRI for creating highly skilled professionals and recruiting participation from sister services and agencies, while commending the Acting Commandant and his team for upholding the institution’s reputation as a centre of excellence.
The Acting Commandant, Lt Col Shuaib Umar said the course was organised to improve the operational capacity of personnel in single service and joint operations. He exhorted the graduates to be professional, effective and humane in the execution of their tasks.
Lt Col Umar also appreciated the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Training (Army) and the Commander TRADOC for their assistance to NASPRI. He also commended the Acting Director, Army Public Relations for strategic direction and support to NASPRI.
Other dignitaries that graced the occasion were the representative of the Acting Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Navy Capt(NN) A Sani, representative of the Director Physical Training Lt Col G Adamu, the Dean Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University of Abuja Prof Abdullahi Saleh Bashir among others.
The programme includes presentation of certificates and awards to exceptional students, presentation of mementos to prominent guests and group photographs to honour the successful completion of the course.
