Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed her desire to have a daughter, stating that she has no interest in remarrying after her split from her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
This was stated by the actress during a livestream session with TikToker Jarvis during her Children’s Day celebration in Asaba, Delta State.
When asked about her current view on partnerships and parenthood, Daniels replied she has psychologically moved on from the thought of marriage.
“But for some reason, I’ve checked my mind out of getting married. I haven’t had a girl yet. And I must have a girl,” she added.
The mother of two said she wanted a daughter because of what she called the unique emotional tie between moms and female children.
Motherhood begins better, I think. “Like you would know what motherhood is when you have a girl child,” she remarked.
“So boys are easy because at least you can groom them to have a role model in a father figure.” But for your girl child, you must be that role model to be followed.”
Daniels also stated how she never wanted a daughter to begin with before becoming a mom.
Before my first son was born I said no way, never. I will not have a daughter. Never ever. But after my first, after my second, I recall, for some reason, it’s the girls that remember,” she said.
The actress was asked about family relationships, and she claimed women are more likely than men to have stronger emotional ties to home.
“Men will grow up, get married and focus more on building family. “But women will always remember home,” she said.
In 2019 Daniels married Nwoko, in a relationship that attracted much notice due of their age difference. The couple have two boys.
Their relationship later became publicly strained in 2025 after allegations by Nwoko that the actress was fighting substance misuse and needed rehabilitation.
Daniels refuted the allegations, accusing the senator of deception, psychological control and abuse, before finally ending the marriage and moving to her own address.
