The suspension of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, former party secretary Samuel Anyanwu, and others is maintained, according to Emmanuel Ogidi, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-South.
During his interview on Channels Television today, Ogidi made this statement, calling the opposing accusations “noise.”
Nigerians are aware of reality. Anyanwu, Fayose, Wike, and others are merely creating noise. The PDP leader stated on the program, “They have been expelled.”
Wike, Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu, and eight other people were expelled by the PDP during its national convention in November due to what the party called “anti-party” behavior.
The convention, which took place in Ibadan, Oyo State, gave as its justifications the actions it viewed as being against the party’s overall interests. The impacted individuals subsequently received a certificate of expulsion.
Governor Seyi Makinde and other supporters of the expulsion were ousted by the Wike-aligned PDP faction.
“I remain a member of the PDP.”
Wike maintained that he remains a member of the major opposition PDP weeks after his dismissal.
“I remain a member of the PDP. We will therefore continue to collaborate with those who have stayed.
Additionally, I told the group to “organize your house.” In response to several PDP MPs in the Rivers Assembly defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wike stated, “Because if you don’t put your house in order, it’s the party that will lose.”
Additionally, we continue to urge the party to cooperate in order to determine how the remaining members can provide a meaningful resistance. However, they decided not to.
When Wike requested that the PDP zone its presidential ticket to southern Nigeria in 2022, the FCT minister’s grievances with the party started.
The former governor of Rivers State backed the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election after former President Atiku Abubakar, who was from the Northeast, emerged victorious in the contest to fly the PDP banner.
