Funke Akindele, a Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has used social media to share her thoughts on how her movies are marketed.
The actress is the highest-grossing Nollywood filmmaker right now. She is known for her dancing and funny ways of promoting her movies.
The actress posted a series of stories on her Instagram today in which she said that she is not the one holding anyone back and that it makes sense for everyone to thrive together.
She said, “I’m not the one holding you back.” “Ka rin ka po, yiye nin ye ni”
She also said that the sky is vast enough for everyone to fly, and if people can’t beat them or join the existing path, they should make their own.
She said, “If you can’t beat them or join them, make your own way.” Don’t let jealousy get the best of you. The sky is big enough for everyone to fly in. “Eyin Werey jojo!!!”
She told her coworkers to go ahead and come up with more ways to promote their movies.
“Go ahead and come up with different ways to market or promote your business, or hire a company to do it for you,” she advised.
“You can do it!” There are unlimited possibilities, and each person has their own way to get there. I trust God’s plan for me and am focused on my own. She went on.
Funke Akindele now has the record for the three Nollywood movies that made the most money. Behind The Scenes, which came out in 2025, made N2,407,000,000 and is still making money. Everybody Loves Jenifer, which came out in 2024, made N1,882,553,548, while A Tribe Called Judah, which came out in 2023, made N1,408,227,541.
