Because four of the teams are playing in continental competitions, some important changes have been made to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 6 fixtures.
According to the Daily Independent, Remo Stars and Rivers United are competing in the CAF Champions League this weekend, while Abia Warriors and Kwara United are playing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The NPFL has moved the impacted games to new dates in a memo signed by Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer.
Abia Warriors will now play Remo Stars, another team from its continent, on October 1. On the same day, Rivers United will host Niger Tornadoes.
The Sani Abacha Stadium will host the match between the Kano Pillars and Kwara United on October 8.
In a similar move, Plateau United has joined Bendel Insurance in moving their home games to Saturdays instead of Sundays.
So, on Saturday, September 27, Insurance will play Bayelsa United and Plateau United will play El-Kanemi Warriors at the New Jos Road Stadium.
All other games will still take place as planned.
