Salihu AbdulHadi Kankia, a member of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) First Aid Group, received numerous rewards for finding and returning a lost bag that contained more than N100 million.

The acknowledgment was made at Bauchi during the closing ceremony for the Islamic scholars who were giving this year’s Ramadan Tafsir.

Kankia’s introduction by Engr Mustapha Imam Sitti, National Director of the First Aid Group, earned him praise for the deed.

The Bauchi State branch of JIBWIS stated on Facebook that it “found a bag containing a large sum of money, exceeding one hundred million naira.”

Instead of keeping it for himself, he hurried to the police station to report what he had found. The police were able to track down the owner, who confirmed the information after confirming nothing was missing.

The post added that “Kankia’s honesty didn’t go unnoticed, The Izala group honored him with an award and sponsored his Hajj pilgrimage this year.

“Additionally, Hon. Abdulmalik Zannan Bangudu, a member of the Zamfara State Assembly, gifted him two million naira.

“Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State also presented Kankia with a bus to kickstart a business venture.”
