JUST IN: ‘Basi & Company’ veteran actress Ethel Ekpe has passed away.
The late actress, who portrayed “Segi” in Ken Saro Wiwa’s former sitcom “Basi and Company” on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), passed away in Lagos State.
The actress reportedly passed away from cancer yesterday, according to a Facebook post by Shaibu Husseini, the Director-General of the National Film and Video Censors Board.
Husseini declared, “It has come to my knowledge that Ethel Ekpe, (Ethel Aderemi nee Ekpe), the stunning actress who mesmerised audiences with her unique portrayal of Segi in the long-gone sitcom “Basi and Company” on Nigerian Television Authority, has departed from this life.
According to reports, Amaka Igwe’s actress, pastor, and star of “Forever” and most recently “Sons of the Caliphate” passed away today in Lagos from cancer. Goodbye ” SEGI “
