Victor Osimhen of Napoli is a forward that Arsenal is thinking about acquiring, as manager Mikel Arteta wants to improve the team’s offensive line-up. Negotiations involving Napoli’s interest in defender Jakub Kiwior could lead to the Gunners being able to secure a discounted deal for Osimhen.

Kiwior, who paid £17.5 million to join Arsenal in January of last year, has not had many opportunities under Arteta, which has attracted the attention of Napoli, who are looking for defensive reinforcement. According to reports, Napoli is spending £30 million on transfers, with Kiwior being their top choice for the back line.

Notwithstanding Sevilla’s prior approach and interest from AC Milan, Arsenal is adamant about holding onto the £25 million Kiwior. The Polish defender has appeared in two of Arsenal’s last four games and has seen increased playing time recently, totaling 13 appearances.

Reluctant to let go of Kiwior, Arsenal may take advantage of Napoli’s interest in Osimhen in order to negotiate a lower price in January or during the next transfer window. Osimhen and Napoli are expected to sign a contract extension, which may include a release clause worth up to £110 million.

Arsenal may decide to strategically investigate the possibility of a Kiwior swap plus cash deal in order to reduce the cost of Osimhen.

This strategy aims to strengthen Arsenal’s attacking options and potentially outmaneuver other interested clubs like Chelsea in securing the Nigerian International’s services.
