Gov Buni to compensate Police escort with a N7.5m house

The governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has ordered the purchase of a N7.5 million house for the family of Corporal Mohammed Maina, a deceased policeman.

Supposed terrorists ambushed the governor’s vehicle on Saturday along the Maiduguri–Damaturu route, killing the officer, according to Channels TV.

 

 

Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni’s Director General of Press and Media Affairs, revealed the acquisition in a press statement yesterday.

 

Similarly, the family was given N2m to cover their immediate needs and N1m to put towards their children’s school expenses.

 

Six additional security men were injured; the governor has granted N1 million for each of them and another N2 million to cover their medical expenses.

 

After releasing food supplies to the impacted families, Governor Buni prayed for the souls of the dead and the speedy recovery of the wounded.

 

 

The Emir of Damaturu, Shehu Hashimi II ibn al-Amin El-Kanemi, together with the Special Advisers on Religious Affairs, Ustaz Babagana Mallam-Kyari, handed the gifts to the victims’ families.
