Security advisories by the US, other foreign missions infuriate the FG
Mohammed Malagi, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, has issued a warning to other foreign missions in Nigeria, including the United States Mission, regarding the dissemination of “needless security advisories.”
Yesterday in Abuja, the minister informed reporters that such advisories had extensive ramifications for both the economy and the broader political landscape of the nation.
Malagi stated that the federal government was diligently working to ensure the security of every resident, visitor, and square inch of land in the country.
The United States Mission in Nigeria issued a warning to its nationals on November 3, stating that “major hotels in Nigeria’s larger cities are facing an increased threat.” The mission advised its citizens to “consider this information when making lodging arrangements or visiting major hotels in Nigeria.”
Nevertheless, such notifications, according to the minister, were “superfluous” given that President Bola Tinubu was anxious to get the nation back on track.
