The new head of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, has issued an order for all employees to make a full declaration of their assets in accordance with government policy.

During a meeting with the personnel at the commission’s offices in Abuja, Olukoyede reportedly delivered the command, as stated in a statement released yesterday by the commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale.

From Level 17 on down, we’re all going to put our assets on the table. I did mine, and no one else should be reluctant to follow suit. The commission’s secretary did it, and you probably have too; but, we must all do it once more. “We will declare our assets and we will investigate them,” the EFCC chairman was reported as adding.

We need to set a good example by always doing the right thing. In order to keep our hands clean as anti-corruption activists, we must disclose all of our financial holdings.

Olukoyede urged the commission’s staff to prioritise the foundations of fighting economic and financial crimes, arguing that these efforts should be directed towards expanding the nation’s economy, fostering a legitimate setting for increased investment, and fortifying the productive base of the economy.

The head of the EFCC has also asked his employees to act professionally, thoroughly, with high integrity, and without bias.

Doing our part to improve the country is a priority. If we want to attract investors, the economy must be stable, and government must be transparent and accountable. It would give us a fresh start to restore our country’s honour,” he remarked.

He promised a more generous benefits package, better training, and more possibilities for everyone on staff in exchange for more output.
