‘Avoid treason,’ Adewole Adebayo warns Nigerians who support an interim government.

The call for an interim government, according to Adewole Adebayo, presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the 2023 elections, is an act of “treason.”
The Department of State Services (DSS) warned on Wednesday of a plot to install an interim government to prevent Bola Tinubu from being sworn in as president.
According to Peter Afunanya, the DSS’s public relations officer, the plot includes violent protests to achieve the declaration of a state of emergency and obtaining court injunctions against the inauguration.
Adebayo responded on Thursday, saying that calling for an interim government is the same as joining a terrorist organization.
“Peaceful election protest is legal, even if it is unpleasant.” Nigerians, particularly youths, must avoid treason by supporting any so-called “interim government,” which is a high crime on par with joining Boko Haram, ISWAP, or any terror group. “All gains will be lost,” he tweeted.
