Chisom Lennard was the Campaign Coordinator for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State. He was shot and killed by people dressed as police officers.

Gunmen are said to have taken Lennard while voting was going on for governor and the state House of Assembly at Ibagwa polling unit 2 ward 10 in Ahoada West LGA.

After he tried to stop the gunmen from stealing election materials, he was allegedly taken away in a commando-style raid.

The State APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, confirmed the event by saying, “He was taken from his polling unit while voting was going on.

No one knew where they were going to take him. His body wasn’t found until later that evening on Saturday.” Nwauju also said that Lennard was a PhD student at Rivers State University and an APC LGA caretaker chairman.

On the Ibueahi-Ubeta road in the Ahoada-West LGA of the state, the body of the late Lennard was found. The late APC leader worked as an estate surveyor and was on the board of the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority when Rotimi Amaechi was in charge.

Grace Iringe-Koko, who works as a spokesperson for the state Police Command, told the reporter that she would find out from the Ahoada Area command and get back to him. As of the time this report was written, Superintendent Iringe-Koko had not done so.
