Dogara, the ex-speaker, loses his local government seat to the PDP.

Yakubu Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has lost his Local Government Area of Bogoro to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate and incumbent Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.

 

INEC announced the results, revealing that Abdulkadir received 16,598 votes, defeating the APC and its gubernatorial candidate, who received 10,436 votes.

 

In the Bogoro State Assembly Constituency, the PDP and its candidate, Musa Nagwada, received 13,934 votes, while the APC and its candidate Bulus Iliya, a former Legislative aide to Yakubu Dogara, received 12,887 votes.

 

As soon as the results were announced, Hon Markus Bitrus Lusa led hundreds of people to the home of former TETFund Executive Secretary Prof Sulaiman E Bogoro, who described the victory as sweet.
