2023 election: Tinubu wins in Niger, defeats Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC), Bola Tinubu, has been declared the winner of the Saturday, February 25, presidential election in Niger State.

 

Tinubu polled a total number of 375,183 votes according to the results announced on Tuesday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation officers for the 25 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state.

 

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, polled 284,898 votes as he emerged second in the state.

 

On the other hand, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, polled 80,452 votes while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, received 21,836 votes.

 

The total number of registered voters in the state is 2,698,344, while the number of accredited voters is 827,416.

 

The total valid votes are 778,668, the number of rejected votes is 34,687 and the total votes cast are 813,355. (The Guardian)
