Italian military jet crashes in Sicily, body of pilot recovered

When fighter plane crashed on the island of Sicily, an Italian air force pilot was killed.

News agency ANSA reported Rescue forces discovered the man’s body early on Wednesday

Italian military confirmed the crash on Tuesday, saying the aircraft did not return from a training mission in the afternoon.

Site of crash was believed to be about 10 kilometres southeast of a military base near Trapani, in western Sicily.

They went on to say that a helicopter was sent in search of the plilot. The cause of the crash was remains unclear.
