Solve Anambra babies’ theft saga, Buhari orders security forces

President Muhammadu Buhari has charged security agencies to immediately step into the babies’ kidnapping saga in Anambra State, tasking them to stem the rising crime rate in the area immediately.

The President was reacting to the reported incident of theft of newborns by gunmen from a maternity hospital in Nkpologwu, Aguata council area of Anambra State on Wednesday.

In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari expressed shock at the development, charging security agencies to immediately swing to action and instructed that security be beefed up around hospitals.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock over the reported kidnapping of five newborn babies in Anambra State, directing that the rising crime rate in the areas be reduced without any delay.

“The reported kidnapping occurred at Stanley Hospital, Nkpologwu in the state. The attackers picked the babies and zoomed off.

“In expressing his concern about the strange incident, President Buhari said this case must be solved immediately.

“He directed that security at hospitals must be foolproof so that attacks of this nature do not happen again,”the statement reads. .
