Ozonna Soludo, a Nigerian contemporary musician has opened up on how his father and Anambra state governor, Charles Soludo kicked against his music career when he first learned about it.

In an exclusive chat with The Nation, Soludo said he met stiff resistance at first but after a while, his parents later came around to accepting his decision to become a successful musician.

“At first, I was met with resistance but I think my parents understand that I’m quite an unwavering spirit and quite frankly I was going to do it anyway,” he disclosed. “But yes, I (now) have their blessing. At the end of the day, it’s my life and I’m a very passionate person with very strong ideas about what I want for myself.”

Ozonna has carved a niche for himself in the music world with his unique brand of music.

Contrary to expectations that he would follow his father’s footsteps, Ozonna who studied at the Institute of Contemporary Music, London, and is currently based in New York, has been selling his brand via performances in London, the U.S among other places.

A close source revealed that Ozonna was spotted with Davido and there are talks that there is likely going to be a collaboration between the two singers soon. (The Nation )
