Kaduna Assembly suspends 2 LGA chairmen over fund misappropriation
The Kaduna State House of Assembly has suspended the Chairman of Chikun Local Government Area, Mr Salasi Musa, and his counterpart in Giwa LGA, Mr Abubakar Lawal, over alleged misappropriation of funds.
The lawmakers took the decision at the sitting held on Tuesday, following a motion by Alhaji Ahmed Chokali, the member representing Zaria Kewaye constituency.
According to him, the House will no longer continue to watch while the council Chairmen continue to flout the state’s local government guideline.
Chokali moved the motion for investigation into the matter, while urging the house to suspend the chairmen for smooth and proper investigation.
He suggested that the chairmen should handover the affairs of the local government councils to their deputies.
The Speaker, Alhaji Yusuf Zailani, who presided over the sitting subsequently suspended the Chairmen.
The House directed the House Committee on Local Government to carry out the investigation and submit its report.
