Obiano still in EFCC custody, transferred from Lagos to Abuja — Spokesman
Former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, is still in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and has been transferred to Abuja.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, told the press that the former governor was moved to Abuja on Friday morning.
This is contrary to reports on Friday that Obiano had been released after he was arrested in Lagos shortly after the swearing-in of his successor into the Anambra State government house.
He was said to be on his way out of the country.
Obiano and his wife have been in the news since Thursday after his wife and Bianca Ojukwu, wife of Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, fought during the swearing-in ceremony of Chukwuma Soludo as Anambra governor. (Nigerian Tribune)
