ISWAP mounts checkpoints on some major routes in Borno

Terrorists of the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP, have mounted four checkpoints on some major routes along the Damboa-Biu road, PRNigeria reports.

The road is in Borno, one of the North East states ravaged by Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgency, for over a decade.

Local sources in the axis told PRNigeria that some of the areas where the checkpoints were mounted include Mararaban Kimba, Ammo Bulin, Wajiroko, Gada, and Sabon Gari.

“The target of the terrorists are mostly innocent motorists who would ply the road.

“Sometimes when there are movements of troops and security patrols they would disappear and later re-emerge. More security personnel should be deployed to the areas to serve innocent citizens

“However, we cannot tell whether they have succeeded in ambushing vehicles that might have plying the road,” they said. (PRNigeria)
