Residents of Guringawa, a sleepy suburb in Kumbotso local government area of Kano metropolis were thrown into shock and anger on Sunday morning following the discovery of a mutilated body of a woman dumped by yet to be identified person in an uncompleted building at the community.
Guringawa quarters, a heavily populated community lies on the north pole of the strategic western bypass in Kano.
Eyewitness reports that children playing hide and seek game in the community noticed a sack oozing out fresh blood at the corner of the abandoned building.
The account said the children who were perplexed by the shocking discovery raised a huge alarm that attracted adults to the scene.
It further explained that residents were however shell shocked when it discovered dismembered bodies of a woman whose age can’t be ascertained wrapped up in sack and thrown overboard to the building.
An unnamed woman who shared neighbourhood with the abandoned building told Reporters on condition of anonymity that this is not the first time the community was witnessing the tragic discovery.
She revealed that the uncompleted building had since become a criminal hideout, adding that the abandoned building also served as a refuse dump to the community.
Similarly, Alhaji Ghali Sulaiman, ward Head, Guringawa community while confirming the incident called for calm, adding that relevant authority has been briefed for action.
On his part, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Police Public Relations Officer, Kano Command similarly confirmed the incident, adding that detectives had since widen their investigation to unravel those behind the dastardly act. (Credit, except for amended headline: Sunday Independent)
