Elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau state have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to redeem the 10 billion naira Pledged to Plateau State meant to be used for rebuilding of burnt structures and to compensate victims of 2018 attacks.

The Plateau elders of the ruling party made this appeal to the Presidency at the weekend at a press conference in Jos.

While consoling victims and survivors of the recent attacks in the state, the spokesman of the Elders, Arch Pam Dung Gyang also pleaded with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs to make provision for relief materials for the victims of the recent civil disturbances in Plateau State.

Commenting on the escalation of the recent attacks, Arc Gyang said it was caused by some inflammatory comments made by individuals and groups on the crisis.

The APC leaders charged security operatives to fish out and unravel the real perpetrators of the civil disturbance in the state to be brought to book to serve as deterrence to others.

The group sued for peace, saying Plateau state is a peaceful place where people of different religion, ethnic groups and culture have co-existed peacefully for years, saying people should not destroy one another.

The Plateau APC elders from the 17 local government areas said: “We sue for peace, people should embrace peace, and avoid taking laws into their hands, this will not do us any good.

They Commended Governor Lalong for the way and manner he handled the recent skirmishes and Pleaded with the youths in the state to work together for lasting peace in the state. (Daily Independent)
