The body of the child was discovered a few kilometres away from Tegina town.

The cause of death remains unknown
Mothers of two of the abducted children have died as a result of the shock over the incident.
Parents of the abducted children and the Tegina community have expressed disappointment over the way the state government has treated the incident.
They recalled a week after the incident, there had been no government delegation to condole with the community over the situation.
The parents also stated only the Local Government Council Chairman, Ismaila Modibbo, has been joining hands to see how the money will be raised to ensure the children are rescued unhurt.
Niger Police Command and the state government are yet to release a statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report. ( The Nation)
