Anambra gets new Police Commissioner

A new Commissioner of Police in the person of CP Monday Bala Kuryas has been appointed for Anambra State to replace Mr John Abang.

Abang was last month promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG with a new posting to Akwa-Ibom.

Announcing the arrival of a new sheriff in a statement on Friday, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Haruna Mohammed, said that Kuryas is an indigene of Kurya Dadu in Jaba LGA of Kaduna State.

He added, “He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the prestigious Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto in 1986.

“He joined the Nigeria Police Force as a det ASP in 1990. Since then, he occupied various positions in the Nigeria Police Force.

“He is a recipient of many certificates of commendations and awards for bravery, hard work and Selfless Service.

He named his hobbies to include; reading and watching football, and that he is happily married with lovely children.
