Dr. Egba Edego
The Chief Medical Director of Nasarawa State Hospitals Management Board (NSHMB), Dr. Egba Edego, has challenged the board’s staff on the need to acquaint themselves with issues concerning the facilities.
This, he said, will enable them develop a mental picture to ascertain gaps and seek ways of working together as team to resolve the gaps.
He was speaking during an initiative session organised by the board for management and staff aimed at was providing qualitative health care services to the populace.
Dr Egba said he operates an open door leadership style that gives room for everybody to make contributions where necessary and seek clarification on issues.
The interactive session started on February 2, 2021 with all the Directors making brief presentations of their departments after which heads of units, union within HMB as well as management of the 17 General Hospitals.
The presentation, which was highly participatory with the CMD and Directors giving on-the-spot solutions to some issues outlined.
Some of the challenges mentioned included insufficient manpower, inadequate medical equipment, poor overhead costs, and poor power supply among others.
The presentation came to an end on February 11, 2021, with closing remarks by the CMD, Dr. Edego.
