Three boys nabbed inside church during kidnap attempt

Three kidnap suspects have been nabbed in Okpanam community, Oshimili North Local Government Area (LGA), of Delta State.
Daily Independent gathered that the suspected kidnappers were arrested inside a Cherubim and Seraphim Church on November 22, 2020.
It was revealed that the unidentified suspects found their way into the church where they disguised to be fellow members, wearing white garments.
It was learnt that the three-man gang were exposed while trying to whisk a three-year-old girl away from the church.
It was gathered that the angry mob from neighbourhood and several members of the church came out to beat the young men to pulp.
A source told our correspondent that Police Operatives of Delta State Command came to the rescue of the kidnappers who were then taken to the station.
When contacted, Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident.
“There was a harvest celebration in the church. Suddenly, a woman saw them dragging her son. It was then the people in the church came out to beat up the boys,” the PPRO said.
“There has been no formal report by the church; it is an alleged kidnapping,” she said. (Daily Independent)
