Four escape in Onitsha gas tanker, truck crash

Four persons have escaped death at the Interswitch bridge in Onitsha, Anambra State, following an auto crash.

The crash, which occurred around 9:59 a.m. o Tuesday, involved two articulated vehicles, with one fully loaded with oxygen gas carrying the four persons.

News Express gathered that the driver of the tanker on losing control of the break system rammed into the oxygen gas truck.

The State Sector Public Education Officer (SPEO), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Pascal Anigbo, in his reaction attributed the cause of the accident to over-speeding.

He said that none of the passengers sustained injuries.

“At about 9.50am today Monday 20 April, 2020 a road traffic crash involving a tanker (Mack Truck) with registration number KTU 802XE and a M/Benz 1419 Truck with registration number EDJ12LG, was recorded at Interswitch bridge head, Onitsha.

“The crash was caused by Loss of control due to speed limit violation by the tanker,” Anigbo added.
