Breaking: FCCPC raid Chinese supermarket in Abuja over discrimination, non expiring products, others

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) paid an unscheduled inspection Panda Supermarket; Jabi in Abuja, yesterday while responding to reports of discrimnation.
ABUJAPEOPLE gathered that when the FCCPC arrived at the super mart, not only did they confirm the veracity of the claim, they also stumbled upon seafoods & animals imported illegally from China.
This discovery is even as mechanism is being put in place by the Federal government to avoid the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus that has claimed many lives around the globe.
FCCPC on further probe of the supermarket also discovered products with expired & irregular shelf life were also discovered at the supermarket, yesterday.
As at the time of filing this report, it was gathered all offensive products were being removed from the Supermarket.
Reacting to the development, the DG, FCCPC, Babatunde Irukera on his twitter handle wrote
“Selling frozen imported seafood, other animals like frogs & snakes under suspicious conditions with no packaging raises serious concerns, especially when origin is China cos of coronavirus
“Discriminating against Nigerian nationals in access to displays is also wrong so we acted,” he added.
