Gov Emmanuel awards scholarship to best graduating students of AKSU

Akwa Ibom State government has awarded a post graduate scholarship to two best graduating students of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Mr Utibemfon Okon who studied Animal Science and Mr Victor Effiong of the Marine Engineering department.
The state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, announced this during the 4th &5th combined convocation of the State University held at the main Campus of the institution, Ikot Akpaden in Mkpat Enin local government area.
The students, Okon Utibemfon, graduated with a Cumulated Grade Point Aggregate (CGPA) of 4.88, in the 2016/2017 session, while Victor Effiong graduated with a CGPA of 4.89 in the 2017/2018 session.
Awarding the scholarship, Governor Emmanuel commended the students for coming top in their academic pursuits saying, “I want to offer them opportunity to further their education through this institution.
The vice chancellor will arrange the platform; I am not limiting them to undertake their postgraduate studies here but I have offered them scholarship for the studies, so they should discuss with the Vice Chancellor”, he said.
The state chief executive congratulated the graduating students and advised them to be courageous in their exploits in life, adding that the 21st century is knowledge and technology driven, and emphasized that character, integrity and honour are the essential elements that would sustain them in a global competitive market.
“I wish to emphasise here, three critical elements will make you a very happy and fulfilled member of this highly competitive world; character, integrity and honour, these elements will be the first set of ideals your employer or future business partner will look at before your great point average”, he stated.
