Suspected poisonous dry meat sellers caught in Federal Polytechnic Nekede

The authorities of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo state, have raise the alarm that some persons with the intention to sell poisonous dry meat to students and members of the institution’s community. The authorities said the suspects have been arrested.

In its internal memo signed by Nwosu E.B, PRO of the Polytechnic for the Registrar, Mrs Eucharia Chidima Anuna, said that the suspected dry meat sellers had been handed over to the Nigeria Police. The two-paragraph memo stated that the suspects were arrested when the institution’s security personnel interrogated “the so-called meat sellers”, compelled them to eat the meat and they all vehemently refused.

A copy of the memo obtained by the News Express from a privileged source was copied to relevant officers of the Polytechnic, like, the Rector, all Deans, all Directors, all HoDs, all Liaisons and Associations and SUG cautioned members of the public to be guided.

In it, the Polytechnic said that the meat sellers during the interrogations confessed to have come from  Aba in Abia State.

The Polytechnic advised its community to be careful of what they eat especially on campus, adding that safety of all staff and students remains its priority.
