Gunmen kill one police officer, burn patrol van in fresh Delta attack

A Delta State Police officer attached to the Nsukwa Divisional Police Station has been killed by unknown gunmen while on routine duty along Otulu Junction, Akwukwu-Igbo, Aniocha north local government area of the state.
Daily Independent gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday, May 26th, when the armed men attacked the police patrol vehicle killing one police officer.
The unidentified gunmen also burnt the police patrol van and carted away with the arms of the deceased police officer.
It could be recalled that not less than three police officers have been killed and the police station in the area burnt in the past two weeks.
When contacted, Police Public Relation Officer PPRO DSP Edafe Bright confirmed the incident and further revealed that a member of the gang responsible for the heinous act has been nabbed. (Daily Independent)
