Fake soldiers, suspected cultists, armed robbers arrested in Delta

The Police in Delta State have arrested two fake soldiers found wearing military uniforms around a hotel in Bendel Estate, off Airport road, Effurun, Delta State.
The police also arrested one member of Viking at Elu, two suspected murders and four armed robbers at Oghara and Okpanam towns in Delta.
In a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, said the fake army officers who gave their names as Jemilia Suleman ‘f’ age 48yrs, a native of Plateau State and Monagor Charles ‘m’ age 61yrs of Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State were arrested at Beji Court Hotel, Bendel Estate, Off Airport road Effurun.
He said, items recovered from them includes 10 pairs of military camouflage uniforms, six T-shirts, jungle caps, one T-shirt and one singlet, all of military camouflage and they confessed that they bought the said uniform in the market and use it earn a living.
Also, the PPRO stated in the statement that one Etor Lucky ‘m’ 20yrs of Elu and two other members of Viking confraternity were arrested while disrupting social wake keep and harassing invited guest in Elu community.
The Divisional police officer Ozoro division mobilized police patrol team to the scene and arrested the said Etor Lucky and recovered a cut-to-size locally made single barrel gun.
In another development, one Efe Lucky and Ramson Akpojibu both ‘m’ of Ughoton community, Okpe LGA were arrested for over the murder of one Mr. Christian at Moving Star Clinic, Warri.
He explained that it was police detectives detailed to the clinic that viewed the corpse and saw signs of violence on the body of the deceased.
He noted that when the premises of the suspects were searched, blood stained cutlass, hammer and blood soaked towel were recovered and that they confessed that they were five in number the beat up the deceased to death over allegation of stealing their three thousand naira ⁰ and phones.
Meanwhile, one armed robbery suspect, Ugbaudu Williams ‘m’ 31yrs a.k.a Beleke was found fatally shot on his right hand ar Oghara while on operation together with one of his gang.
He was seriously bleeding and confessed that he was shot by one Desmond his partner in crime. He was taken to his house for a search where another locally made barrel gun was recovered with two live cartridges, one expanded cartridge was recovered. He was rushed to the General hospital Oghara for treatment where he gave up a ghost while receiving treatment.
A Bajaj (Boxer) Motorcycle with Reg. No. AKM 705 VM conveying three persons was intercepted, and the rider escaped, while the other two accomplices, one Friday Worfer, Sunday Panwal and Emmanuel David all ‘m’ of Ogbe-Obi Quarters were arrested at Okpanam.
“When search was conducted on them, one locally made pistol and one cartridge were recovered from the suspects, they are suspected to be among the syndicate who rob in Asaba and Okpanam axis mostly at night. (Daily Independent)
