A Lagos based lawyer, Georgina Dakpokpo Esq has said that the ravaging insecurity in the country without any tangible efforts to address it by government,  should not be blamed on anyone else but President Muhammadu Buhari.

The legal practitioner said this while fielding questions on Channels Television programme, “Sunrise Daily” on Wednesday.

According to Dakpokpo who is a member of the steering committee of Nigeria Consultative Front (NCFront) and immediate past Secretary of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), the President is the Commande-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and so the buck stops at his desk.

“The center is not holding as it is, everything has fallen apart. So we need the government at the center to act.  Some people say it is not Buhari. For goodness sake, he is the chief security officer of the country. He is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces,” she said.

Dakpokpo also advised Nigerians not to gamble with their lives in the next coming general elections by voting the wrong people into elective offices which in most cases extend from four to eight years as second term.

Nigerians should always hold their elected representatives responsible for any misdemeanour, she advised.

Speaking on efforts by the National Assembly so far on insecurity in the country, the learned gentleman said it is not enough for the legislators to go through the same routine of inviting government officials to appear before them.

“Let them (lawmakers) ask probing questions – the police, military, DSS. Let it be seen that arrests are being made. Ask probing questions to unravel things,” she said.

  1. I do consider all of the concepts you have offered to your post.
They’re very convincing and can definitely work. Nonetheless, the
posts are too short for newbies. May you please lengthen them a bit from next time?
    Thanks for the post.
