. . . Says Nigeria will overcome; Christ resurrection a sign of victory ahead.
National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has charged Nigerians to allow love, which he described as the cardinal point of Christian injunctions to guide their actions in relating with one another.
Prince Secondus said in a message to Christians at this year’s Easter, that with love and piety, Nigerians will surmount all challenges the country was currently facing.
In his message, tagged, “Nigeria will Overcome” released from his media office and signed by Ike Abonyi his media Adviser, Prince Secondus said the Easter period reminds us of brotherly love, peaceful co-existence, tolerance, honesty, humility, justice, equity and fairness to all without discrimination as contained in the Scriptures.
“This particular injunction is important to us as a nation as we continue to contend with the challenges of nation-building, bad economy, insecurity and poor leadership.”
In apparent reference to the tension and needless bloodletting in the country, the PDP boss challenged Nigerians to live peacefully with one another irrespective of religious, tribal and political differences for the progress of the country.
He said the Easter celebration calls for sober reflection as we give serious thoughts to the suffering and the crucifixion of Jesus on the Cross for our sake as mankind.
Prince Secondus noted that the death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary, signifies total redemption for mankind as he called on Nigerians to imbibe the good virtues of Jesus who laid His life for the sins of the world.
The National Chairman noted that the 40 days fasting and deep prayers that ushered in the Easter Day will be meaningless if we fail to pick the lessons in it.
“Easter is the resurrection of Christ from the dead, it’s victory over evil and in that optimism Nigeria will overcome its many challenges and come out victorious.
“We must therefore pray fervently at this period for the quick resolution of the security challenges confronting the nation.”
Finally, Prince Secondus charged Nigeria political leaders to be God fearing in all their actions and inactions by allowing justice and fairness to guide their thoughts.
