Rivers APC: Abe dares Amaechi over imposition of guber candidate
By DANIEL ALABI
The internal crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State chapter worsened on Tuesday.
This is coming as a member of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Board of Directors, Senator Magnus Abe faulted the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on the imposition of a candidate ahead of the 2023 governorship race.
Abe said that it was too early to begin talking about where the governorship candidate of the party should come from when the party has not set up its administrative structure and cautioned that an individual cannot impose or zone governorship candidate of the party.
He argued that the party was yet to initiate a process to bring all its members to one fold, set up a structure to elect party executives and wondered why an individual should be talking about the zoning of a governorship candidate.
The former secretaries to the Rivers State government posited that Amaechi’s comment on zoning was his personal opinion and warned that no individual can be bigger than the party. (Daily INDEPENDENT)
