Reprieve is still far from coming to the embattled former governor of Imo State and Senator for Imo West- Rochas Okorocha as another group-“Imo Compatriots For Good Governance” has urged Governor Hope Uzodinma to ensure total recovery of all public properties allegedly looted by the former governor and his cronies.
Chief Ahude Joe Mbama, spokesman of the pressure group, who briefed newsmen in Owerri argued that religious and unbiased implementation of the report of the white paper released by the Panel of inquiry which he said was a composition of men of honour, substance and credibility would serve as a deterrent to other serving public office holders in the state.
“When a public office holder knows that at the end of the day, that he will be compelled to face the public court and to give account of his stewardship, he will be careful not to abuse his office”.
Chief Mbama said that it was an insult to the state for the former governor to have boasted that he is richer than Imo after leaving office saying “as a pressure group and a non-governmental organization NGO, we have resolved to plead with Governor Uzodinma to implement the report of the white paper as released by the panel of inquiry set up by ex-governor Emeka Ihedioha to serve as a deterrent to others who might see Imo as their personal Estate.
“We are not asking the press to come and fight the war for us but to assist us to tell governor Uzodinma that he owes it a duty to implement the report of the white paper on recovery of missing Imo property.” (Saturday Independent)
