FCT Police repel school robbers, recover millions of counterfeit naira notes

The FCT Police Command has arrested 11 suspects for one chance, fraud and armed robbery along Durumi, Wuye and Kafe-Life Camp axis.

FCT Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yusuf Mariam, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

He listed the suspects as “Anthony Gambo ‘m’ 32years and Haruna Musa ‘m’ 25 years, members of a seven-man robbery syndicate arrested by Police Operatives from Life Camp during routine patrol, after attacking and robbing a school at Kafe-Life Camp. Other robbery suspects are: Mustapha Mohammed 20years, Hamisu Umar 21years and Nazifi Mohammed 20years all male. Exhibits recovered are: one (1) HP Laptop and one (1) Apple Mac Laptop.”

ASP Yusuf Mariam said that “in another development, Police Operatives from Galadinmawa arrested one Charity Timothy 23years ‘f’ and Sunday Godwin 23years ‘m’ along Durumi axis for one chance robbery. The suspects confessed to terrorizing residents along that axis. Exhibits recovered are: one (1) red colour Volkswagen reg no. BWR 903 HE.

“Relatedly, Police Operatives from Wuye Division arrested one Kamal Haruna 27years, Frank Onoja 46years, Adejoh Steven 54years and Guede Nelson 60years all male, for being in possession of counterfeit Naira notes. The suspects confessed to using the notes to defraud unsuspecting members of the public. Exhibits recovered are: Five million seven hundred-thousand-naira (N5,700,000) counterfeit naira notes.

“All the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.

“The Command employs residents to report all suspicious movements, emergency or distress, through these numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883 and to report the conduct of Police Officers, call the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) number: 09022222352.”
