Buhari, Diri congratulate Jonathan at 63

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Thursday, congratulated former President Goodluck Jonathan, on his 63rd birthday.

Buhari’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement titled, “President Buhari greets former President Goodluck Jonathan on 63rd birthday,” signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

The statement reads partly, “On behalf of the Federal Government and Nigerians in general, President Muhammadu Buhari warmly felicitates with former President Goodluck “Jonathan on his 63rd birthday, November 20, 2020, congratulating him for a life of service that has brought honour and goodwill to the country.”

Also, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr Douye Diri, his congratulatory message contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Daniel Alabrah, Diri described the former president as a Nigerian, African and global icon with exceptional democratic credentials that endeared him to many across the world.

He said, “Dr Jonathan is a statesman and patriot of repute whose legacies in office consistently speak of his unrivalled candour.”
