Residents of Kigo Road, Kaduna was today, 19th November 2020 taken aback as a lecturer committed suicide after after shooting his wife.

The deceased, a former principal lecturer of Kaduna Polytechnic, Department of Languages, Mr Austin Umera was said to have shot his wife and later shot himself dead.

INDEPENDENT learnt that the incident happened at about 10000hours of Thursday.

A source revealed that he got the report immediately at about 10000hours and arrived their residence at Kigo road and took the injured wife Dr. Maurin Umerah a part time lecturer at Department of Languages Kaduna State University to 44 Army Reference Hospital Accident and Emergency Unit where she is receiving treatment.

Meanwhile the deceased corpse have been deposited at Barau Dikko morgue, while Investigation has fully commenced

Independent could not ascertain the cause of the problem which led to such action as committing murder as at the time of filing this report.

Speaking with the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, he disclosed that the report of the incident just got to him and promised to get back to Independent after speaking with the DPO of the area. (Daily Independent)
