The Yoruba Youth Socio-cultural Association (YYSA) has sympathised with Fulani community in South West Nigeria who recently lost cows to lightning.
The association’s president, Olalekan Hammed in a statement yesterday, noted that despite the fact that such incident happened few months ago in Ondo state, it was reoccurred in Osun state.
While noting that lightning was undoubtedly a natural phenomenon which could happen anytime or moment, the youth said Oyo, Ekiti, Ogun and Lagos might be the next place where lightning would happen nobody knows.
“We enjoin Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breaders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) South West zone to take to the advice of our traditional rulers by ensuring that they set all affected cattle ablaze whenever lightning happens to safe themselves from its calamitous consequences which could absolutely resulted from noncompliance.
“The harmonious relationship between we (Yoruba) and Fulanis is aged-long one and nothing can separate us.
“We condole with those who lost their cows and wish them well. God bless Nigeria”, they said.
