The police command in Ogun State on Sunday declared a suspected notorious cultist, identified as Bobo, wanted for allegedly killing an automobile mechanic, Salaudeen Lawal.

The suspect, who ‘terrorises’ Igbesa and its environs in Ado-Odo Ota, was accused of the gruesome murder of the automobile mechanic during an altercation.

It was gathered that the deceased, who was called to fix a vehicle that developed a mechanical fault, was accused by Bobo and his colleagues of obstructing the road with the vehicle he was repairing.

This, it was further learnt, snowballed into an altercation between the parties.

In the process, Bobo allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed the deceased on his hand and cut one of the veins.

The police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi on Sunday said following a distress call made to the police at Igbesa divisional headquarters, the DPO, SP Abayomi Adeniji, led his men to the scene and took the victim to the hospital.

The mechanic later died at the medical facility while receiving treatment.

“The suspect, having realized what he did took to flight immediately but one of his accomplices has been arrested and he is helping the police in their investigation,” Oyeyemi said.  (Daily Trust)
