Governor Lalong

Stakeholders in the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Plateau Rescue Front (PRF), have advised the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, to be fair to all citizens in the state so the state can move forward.
PRF, in a letter to the Plateau State Governor, said there are cases of injustice and lack of proper handling of the affairs of the APC in the state which needed to be looked into.
In the letter dated August 29, 2020, which was signed by Francis Kwarpo on behalf of the group, PRG said the situation in Plateau State is so appalling that no patriot can fold his arms and pretend all is well.
On the issue of security in the state, PRF lamented the killing of citizens and destruction of property with little or no support/relief from government.
PFR added that the roads in Jos metropolis have become an eyesore and a death trap, and that it is a shame that in the city centre of a supposed home of tourism, the people have resorted to self-help.
On party patronage the group said: “One of the grudges of our party members is your outright refusal to appoint party members to various political offices since your return to office on May 29, 2019 under the guise of lack of funds.”
It also said: “One of the main grouses of the people with your administration is the high level of nepotism which is unprecedented in the history our dear state.”
PRF then advised the governor to accept its observation as the hard and bitter truth and for him to take deliberate actions to cut the costs of governance and block areas of wastages to make available more resources for activities of government.
“To henceforth make clear and visible efforts to balance government patronage to reflect the diversity of the state, while also considering party members’ efforts and sacrifice.
“To immediately appoint deserving party members as advisers and special assistants and fill up all other vacant officers which will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of party members. This will be further appreciated as the pandemic has seen the fortunes of many nosedived.”
