Pipeline workers protest non- payment of salaries

Indigenous workers in Ugbogui, Ohosu, Ekoha and seven other communities that worked on pipeline construction across Ugbogui community weekend protested the non-payment of their salaries for over three years.

The protesting workers alleged that after the failure or refusal of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to pay their contractor so he could pay them, it appeared NNPC has awarded the contract to another contractor without paying off the former workers.

The workers stormed the construction site to stop the continuation of work by workers newly engaged by the new contractor to demand their over three years outstanding salaries.

According to the angry workers, “We don’t want any issue but should be paid off for work done on this pipeline, we did the job up to Ugbogui forest, we have not been paid and now another contractor is back to site to with another group of workers to resume work.  (Daily Independent)

  1. Hi this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting
to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code
with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so
I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
