A Nigerian man has been detained in Canada after reportedly exposing himself to three victims in different occasions on the city’s public transit system in Toronto.
Vanguard reports that the Toronto Police Service said the defendant, identified as 28-year-old Adebayo Maoli of Toronto, is charged with one count of sexual assault and two charges of indecent act.
Police said the first incident took place Sept. 1 at about 3 p.m. on a southbound Toronto Transit Commission, or TTC, subway train at King Station.
The man reportedly exposed himself to two victims before exiting the train after the victims activated the security alert.
In another incident on October 3, at about 12:10 a.m., the accused allegedly stalked a person who had just off a tube train at College Station.
The two got on an escalator where the defendant reportedly exposed himself to the victim, investigators added.
“The victim yelled at the accused, who ran away from the area,” the Toronto Police Service said in a news statement.
Maoli was later arrested and charged in connection with the incidents.
He was set to appear in bail court Oct. 9.
Police said they suspect there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to call the Toronto Police Service or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
The investigation continues and the charges against the defendants have not been tried in court.
